So, after a fun night of wiping on some serious raid bosses, there is almost always someone telling you how to run the guild. These people are tough to deal with, because on the one hand you just want to tell them to GTFO and use your mind to punch them in the face, but on the other hand… they sometimes have some good ideas. The secret to dealing with these people is to not let them ambush you. People are frustrated after a night of wiping, but most of the time wiping is a necessary evil in the progression game, but this is not the time to get into a “here is how the guild should be ran” discussion. I handle this a couple of different ways… the first is to take a quick break after the raid (if I want to keep playing that is.) A lot of times those people are just full of steam and need a little chance to spout off, but sometimes they are spouting off to an entire raid , and this is not the time to take a quick break. Instead, this is the time to grab them, put them in a locked channel and let them spout off to you. And, if you listen to what they say, you might just walk away with a few ideas to make your guild better, but… probably not. So log on your alt, and grind green whelplings in the swamp while they talk, that will help pass the time.
I am a lvl 70 Human Warlock ( but only IRL). I’m Co-GM (couldn’t do it alone- we’re just too much to handle!) of the guild <Indecent> on Elune server and we’re a breakaway guild. Just a bunch of friends and some casual raiders- and the occassional wack-job or two.
We have lots of guild contests, and lots of great players ( and ten million alts)

My name is Vinay and I play a 70 feral druid on the Frostmourne US server (Oceanic). I’ve been playing WoW since January of 2005 on a few different servers and many characters before settling down on Frostmourne. I lead a PVE-progressive guild called Daimyô. We’ve been running for about 2 months and are currently working on Kael’thas. While blogging about my experiences here, I hope to provide you with some comedy and maybe even insight, and to read about yours as well!

I have been playing WoW for about 2 years now. I am a LvL 70 Dwarf Hunter on the Teneras Server. Our Guild “TorTureD SouLs” has been up and running for about 4 months now.
And during that 4 months there have been countless situations that have came up that i cannot wait to blog about.
Ahh, loot. Loot is such a big deal in this game that I think it needs its own category. So many guilds handle this in SO many different ways, and it is such a touch category. Nothing can turn an otherwise lovely person into a green monster faster than a sweet professor plum. (That’s epic, for those of you who haven’t seen the best video ever… but I posted it below.) So… the age old question… who gets the loot?
Do you have one of those officers who loves to abuse his privelages by /gkicking people and then inviting them back? Man, I do, and it drives me up the wall. I mean, the guy is a nice enough guy, and a great officer he just thinks it is funny to abuse his power by kicking people out of the guild and then inviting them back immediatly after. This, of course, deletes all their user notes, officer notes, and ranking, and upsets the people off when he does that. It is enough to make a special rank, put him in it and not allow his /gkick privelages. I do like that blizzard has a lot of stuff set up in the game to allow you to do cool stuff like that, so maybe I should take advantage of it, eh?
Okay, so this is so exciting! We are totally getting new GM’s to write for the site! I have set up two different Guild Masters to write for the site now, and I have a couple of others in the wings ready to write as well, I just have to get them all set up! This is so fun! Thanks guys to everyone who is contributing, reading, and anything else they are doing with the blog! I just know this is going to be a great project full of awesome ideas, and great stories!
So many guilds are asking themselves just this right now. Should they still be running kara? At first, the new badge items and adding badges to kara made it a desirable run again, but for many of us just the sound of that soothing voice letting us know that “the menagerie is for guests only,” makes us want to punch ourselves in the face just so we have an excuse to bow out of the raid. So the question is, when can we stop going into that scary old house on the hill? I say when you have a good raiding team in place that has enough gear to be able to pull at least a couple of people through Gruul’s and Maggie. With badge gear as nice as it is right now, there really is no reason for people to continue running that place when they are bored out of their minds with it. But, if you want to try for a speed run, and maybe bring a noob or two along so you don’t have to shard all that gear, then I say go for it! Just remember that uninvited guests really upset the wait staff. 
Ahhh, yes. It’s Saturday night, the boys have had a beer or two, and are lookin’ for a fight. They aren’t looking for a real fight, mind you… these are gamer dudes… the chances of them holdin’ their own in drunken bar brawl are less than stellar. So what’s the next best thing? Gchat of course! Now what are these guys going to fight about? Anything and everything. Although my personal favorite is the game itself. It usually goes something like this:
“Rouge’s are better than Pallys”
“HAHA you called yourself makeup”
“No, dude you’re a chick you wear makeup”
“Insert more random crap here”
Ahhhh, Gchat fights… they are so fun aren’t they? And the thing with these is, these guys are normally pretty civilized dudes (not to mention kick butt raiders). So, what do you do? You send a tell…telling them to shut up, and if they still don’t shut up… well, there is a way to make a rank in your guild that can’t see /gchat! That one is worth exploring, trust me!
I am a level 70 Blood Elf Hunter on the Eitrigg server, and I am a Guild Master! It’s all fun and games until somebody loses an epic, right?
My guild is a newer guild (about four months old) but is progressing fast. I have fun raid leaders, and a crack raiding team. I blog, and I love it!
