So Patch Time…

Well, I spent the better part of last evening healing the new instance, and I did all my dailys like a good little hoardie so that we could open the damn heroic badge dude.  (My server is small… he still isn’t opened up.)  And, I must say, well done so far blizzard, it totally feels like we are in total turmoil right now all running around trying to save the isle, everything seems to be super cool, and that instance is fabulous.  I always said silvermoon was wasted on the under 20 crowd, and now we get to like really experience it.  I mean, I only play Blood Elves… so this is super cool for me.

Now, for the changes… weird how your friend’s list people are a different color, right?  And…. how cool getting to inspect players from the opposing faction?!?  Funtara!  My omen downloaded kind of weird like, but other than that… things seem to be working fine.  So far patch 2.4 is pretty cool in my book!

From Casual to Hardcore…

Well, we have decided that with the upcoming patch, and the fact that Kael Thas is wiping that shiny pink floor with our faces it is time to admit that we are a hard core raiding guild.  We have been raiding like we are for a while, but not with all the rules, etc. in place that need to be there to keep the team from failing at the bigger baddies.  So we have decided to just call the raiding team what it is, a hardcore raiding team.  Pretty exciting, but kind of scary!

What to do about the helpers…

ahh helpers…You know… the people that pst you the very second you log on.  The people who have been on all day and they are dying to tell you about all the drama that has gone throughout the day… even if it was minor, an officer took care of it, let you know about it and all is well now, or even worse, was so minor that there was no reason to bring it up…

I have one of these little busy bees… and I love him to pieces… but WOW… sometimes I just wanna kill ogres for the sixteen minutes I get to log on while I am waiting on the timer for dinner to go off, ya know?

Too Many Chiefs…

Man, sometimes in a raid I feel like we have too many chiefs and not enough Indians.  (Is that statement not a politically correct cliche anymore.)  And I kind of feel like powerless to stop it.  It seems like every once in a while we will get a member of the guild who has decided he/she wants to prove to everyone just how awesome he is, yelling at people to use potions, posting damage meters, yelling at people to prepare… and all at the wrong times… and why oh why does he always have to be a close friend to someone in the guild that actually matters?  I mean, my first response is to just kick him, but I can’t.

I hate when my hands are tied!

Alt Overload

Well, I finally decided to get an alt to 70.  I have tried many times, got bored with it, and then went back to the hunter.  I didn’t want another dps class, and the only think as easy to level as a hunter is of course a lock.  So I decided that I would roll a priest, and by golly, I think she just might make it!  She is sitting pretty at half way to 66 right now, and has plenty o’ questing to do.

But then what happens when I get her there… more faction rep, more kara, more of ALL that stuff… sightara.  When you are leveling, you sometimes forget that the game BEGINS at 70.  But, it does.  I think for now I will just worry about getting her kara keyed.  You can get into OHB at 66, right?

Maybe I will start a fun kara alt night.  KarAlt ’08?  It could be fun… or it could be hours of wiping on moroes! >.<

Adding new officers to the ranks…

Well, we had an officer that due to RL stuff just couldn’t be an active member of the guild anymore.  This made us all very sad, but we definitely saw it coming since his play time was dramatically reduced.  We were disappointed, but excited at the chance to get to elect a new officer!  We actually got to talking, and we are taking on two officers in his place, a healing officer and a dps officer (one of our original officers is a tank so we have that covered.)  We are actually super excited about doing this!  Instad of class officers, we have kind of grouped them into three groups… that way if someone needs help the officer can either help them, or know who to send them to for help.  I hope it works!

Why I am always a slow writer on the weekends…

Believe it or not, my guild has decided that the weekends are the WORST time for us to raid.  We can’t get consistency in our raiders, and we have trouble making the right groups for the raids, so we just don’t raid on the weekends.  It is fun though… we hit up kara, mag, and gruul with whoever is online, and we just hang out and have a good time.  With all the badge rewards coming out in 2.4 kara is at least a good farming option.  I gotta say though, my guild was late in the game starting out on raiding this content, so I can’t wait for the Xpac.  I wish it was coming out tomorrow!  It will be fun to be on even ground with the other guilds on our server!

So I am not a tough Guild Master…

I have trouble yelling at people, and I am not so great with the tough love tactics.  I am more of a kind guild master, I listen to your woes, and I always give people the benefit of the doubt.  I never yell, and I keep my raid leaders from losing their tempers as much as I can.  So, last night, when I was having to grab tainted cores from the people on the bottom of the stairs, and people were rambling on in vent and I yelled “Shut up!” it got REAL quiet.  I don’t even like that phrase.  I am a kindergarten teacher by trade, and to five years old that is the equivalent of telling someone to “F off.”  But I needed to know who to grab my core from, and I needed to be able to get there and I needed to be able to hear when the mage at the pillar was ready to get it!  SO… I yelled it… haha I still can’t believe it, but it worked.  The entire raid got quiet, got their business together, and we killed her.  It was awesome.  I almost got my helm too…. damn mage.  🙂
